Hello! Ciao! Bonjour! Marhaba!
If you’ve landed here, welcome! I’m so happy to meet you. My name is Emily and this website has been a long time coming. In fact, you could say that I’ve put off doing this for years for a whole host of reasons but we’re here now. And like they say…Rome wasn’t built in a day, right?
I took my first plane ride when I was 8 years old traveling between my parent’s homes; my dad on the West Coast and my mom on the East. When it came to choosing a college, I went to school 3,000 miles from where I lived full time. I enrolled in a study abroad program and once I took my first overseas trip that was it for me. My love of travel and exploring new places was solidified. I choose Athens, Greece but after a few weeks the school was canceled and I moved to Leicester, England, which set the foundation to live abroad in London a few years later. When I returned to New York City from London in 2009, I joined a non-profit; the Union Square Partnership, where I discovered that my love for the food and hospitality industry could become a career. That realization led me to Chef Marc Murphy’s Benchmarc Restaurant Group in 2011, where I stayed for almost a decade as the director of communications honing my skills with my passion for culinary and how it connects the world. Following my love of travel, I curated numerous mission-driven Chef work and events across both the US and the globe with partners like the U.S. Department of State, The Culinary Diplomacy Project, and the U.S. Embassy in Rome to name a few. I traveled to places like Turkey, China, Italy, Sicily, Denmark, France, Jordan, Belgium, and Monaco as well as spent 17 days in an RV with 3 guys driving across the US for work. I’ve had some epic adventures! And until now haven’t had anywhere to share them.
In the Fall of 2021, I co-founded a NYC-based modern hospitality consultancy and brand strategy company working with prestigious clients including Michelin-starred restaurants, culinary talent, and international hospitality brands. And while I love working in this industry, I am ready to share my experiences and trips with you through my lens here. I’m lucky to have seen a lot and I’ve eaten so many amazing things, I’m ready to have a place where those trips can live. Perhaps share a tip or two. And hopefully, inspire you so you too can go out and explore the world whether that adventure is near or far away. Since the pandemic, I have embraced solo travel adventures in Italy, Jordan, Mexico City, and Lebanon. I am always on the hunt for my next delicious adventure. Yalla Habibi!
